Governance

Governance

Portwest is committed to doing business in a fair, transparent and ethical manner.

We have a robust governance structure in place and we are constantly improving to continuously meet the needs of our customers, employees, suppliers and all other stakeholders, including updating our whistle blowing policies and procedures as well as investing heavily in IT infrastructure and systems to mitigate cyber security risks. Certifications can be downloaded below.

Note: Code of Conduct is not finalised and I am waiting for an updated version of the REACH compliance declaration of Conformity.

Ecovadis

Ecovadis enables us to demonstrate our progress year on year and highlights areas of improvement in each key pillar as well as new advancements in sustainability from the previous year. We continue to implement systems for data collection and management to ensure that our sustainability reporting will advance year on year.

The SDGs and UN Global Compact

Launched in 2015, the 17 SDGs form a shared global agenda for environmental improvement, social empowerment and greater equality.

In the table below, we have illustrated how our sustainability programme aligns with these goals. Our commitment to sustainability is emphasized by our alignment with the United Nations’ 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and the 10 guiding principles on Human Rights, Labour, Environment and Anti-Corruption in the United Nations Global Compact. In 2021, Portwest signed up to the UN Global Compact, committing to reporting our progress towards the goals year on year. We published our first Communication on Progress in 2022.
