Supporting local communities has been part of our ethos since our inception 119 years ago. From supporting local sports teams, to getting involved in local charities, philanthropy is at the core of Portwest and it’s global team.
Each year we participate in both major and minor sponsorship and charitable activities across the world. In 2021, Portwest entered into a major 5 year sponsorship with Mayo GAA, which will see both the senior football and hurling teams supported. The Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA) is Ireland’s largest sporting organisation and is celebrated as one of the great amateur sporting associations in the world. It’s a grassroots organisation which encourages inclusivity in every sense of the word, bringing together people from very young beginners up to senior level and beyond, creating community and connection, as well as health and wellbeing.
Outside of this sponsorship, we supported more than 26 local organisations with over €20,000 worth of goods and financial supports in 2022.
